What story does each vector of migration tell?

Time to Complete

1 - 3 45 minute sessions

Overview

Learners listen to the stories of migrants and calculate their vectors of migration. They go on to find their own vector and reflect on the story it tells.

Standards Covered

  • Describing vector quantities as having both magnitude and direction.

  • Representing vector quantities by directed line segments, and use appropriate symbols for vectors and their magnitudes

  • Finding the components of a vector by subtracting the coordinates of an initial point from the coordinates of a terminal point.

  • Performing arithmetic operations on vectors

  • Solving problems involving velocity and other quantities that can be represented by vectors.
